Reading Response of the Theme in “Heartless” by Sara  Shepard

   In your life you have the best friends and you have the enemies. The people that you can’t stand do all the things that you hate.  You are in a better place than Spencer, Aria, Emily and Hanna. They are the 4 main characters of the book Heartless by: Sara Shepard. The 4 girls go through many threatening situations including texts from “A”. These situations lead them into danger. But the upside to these situations is they can try to find out if there friend Alison DiLaurentis actually disappeared. Even though Alison was very mean to them. All the girls can see why Alison is really important to them into their life.
   In this book the theme to me is even though people can be mean, don’t be mean to them. Let them accept there consequences. In life many go through this situation, but you should try to find out who it is and let them know that is mean
   In the beginning of the book Spencer, Aria, Emily and Hanna have received many texts from “A.” But “A” sends all the girls on a little trip. Spencer has found out many secrets involving the parents that adopted her. Hanna is sent to an eating disorder by her father. At this place she meets a girl named Iris who may not be the girl Hanna thought she was. Emily is sent to Lancaster meeting Wilden’s ex-girlfriend. Emily gets a feeling that Wilden could have been Alison’s killer. Lastly Aria is dealing with boy trouble. She starts dating Noel Kahn and ends up finding out “Ali killed Ali.”   (Page 213)
    Throughout the whole book the girls have gone through many changes. The girls go through changes involving Alison, “A” and their families. Four of the girls can see the importance of Alison. Even though she may have been mean and have taken over their life. Alison was the one who showed how important they are. By reading I can also tell that “A” can be helpful in many ways. “A” help the girls find out clues that brings them a step closer to finding out what really happened to Alison. Lastly changes with families. While reading I can tell that sometimes your parents don’t listen to what you have to say. Even though they care for you, secrets are still kept as secrets.
   At the end of the book the girls are being accused as Alison’s killer. The four girls are then being arrested and don’t even know why. Not until they are being let out of jail. The girls then get a feeling that the police might be hiding something. “A man has just been arrested for Alison’s murder on the basis of overwhelming evidence.” This “murderer” might have been Billy Ford. But not until Spencer’s sister, Melissa tells her that Jenna Cavanaugh has been killed. “He killed her just like he killed Ali.”
   I can tell that the main theme is even though people can be mean, don’t be mean to them. Just let them accept there consequences. This book gives a great example for this, even though “A” wins all the time. But this book can make the readers think more about the next time you do something mean that can hurt someone. Overall this book gives a great example of being a good person and let the others accept there consequences.

I think that Hannah explained what the book what the book really means to her. I agree with Hannah when she talks about experiencing war. You watch war in many movies and shows. You see all that acting. But at that time you want to know how soldiers really felt during the war. Even thought looking at the acting in movies or shows you get a really scary feeling. But you want to know how the situation was during war.

I think that Lily explained how Steve Jobs was important in life. Lily talked about all the accomplishments Steve Jobs made. She explained how all the things we use in our daily life is very important. The things we use as entertainment has now changed the world . All of our technology such as computer the iphone came from him. So I think that Lily gave a good rsponse on the importance of Steve Jobs

Summer Reading Response on Wicked

Book: Wicked (5th book of the Pretty Little Liars series)

    Over the summer I read the book Wicked by Sara Shepard and I love this book. I have read the last 4 books in the series and the 4 main characters have gone through a lot. Spencer Hastings, Emily Field, Aria Montgomery and Hanna Marin have all dealed with “A.” After the death of Alison DiLaurentis the girls have been trying to figure out who this “A” is and if Ian (Alison ex-boyfriend) killed her.

     In the beginning and the middle of the book the girls talk about the experience of finding out that one of Hanna’s closest friends was “A.” Mona Vanderwall has tried to kill Spencer but his lead to injuries for her. Hanna also has to deal with her new stepsister Kate who is trying to be over the top. Emily is now struggling for the loss of Maya. But now is Emily falling for Isaac? Spencer continues to find out more information on her real parents. Spencer is trying to figure out if she’s a Hastings or not. Lastly Aria is now falling for a guy named Xavier who she meets at art class.

    As I go deeper into the book, I have notice that the girls deal with there new “A” problem while dealing with there regular life. I can see that the girls have forgotten about “A” for once but now with the new year of school “A” comes back. As I have been reading this book I have had one big question always pop into my head why does “A” keep coming back? Does this person want some revenge? The information I have gathered from the books I can tell that “A’” has a connection to Alison’s death. After all the “A” deal has started after Ali has died. Another thing I always wondered now that Mona is revealed as “A,” will Mona help out the new “A”? I infer that Mona might still be helping out “A.” Mona has all these information and she is probably going after Spencer, Hanna, Emily and Aria.

    At the end of the book “A” kills Ian. Spencer finds his body in the woods. All four girls go into the woods and see Ian lying on the ground dead. At once all there phones buzz. But not wanting to look at the screen they see a text from “A” saying He had to go.

    Overall I think that this book has a couple of words to describe it. Some words such as: relieved, startled and struggle ness. The characters have to go through a lot with the new “A” situation and with their regular lives.  But regarding to this book overall in my head many parts of the story made me question and infer why did this happen. And now I can’t wait to start the next book Killer to find out if my inferences were correct.
